I have to be honest and say I really don’t have anything planned for my blog this week. It’s been a crazy couple of months for me career wise because I am in the process of becoming a director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, a direct selling skin care and cosmetics company. Only one percent of beauty consultants in this company have that title. This is the last week for me to finish that goal. I have a lot of emotions on this subject so I figured I would just write them out here and hopefully you get something from it lol
First let me start off by saying that I have been a business owner with Mary Kay for 12 years, signed up on my 18th birthday, so this is a major part of my life. And I was a director in this business five years ago during the 50th anniversary of the company. At the same time I was also doing online classes at Full Sail University to receive my masters in New Media Journalism. There were also other issues in my life at the time so after a year I stepped down from that position. Anyone who has ever had to step down from a position but still been in the company/organization knows how much that can mess with your mind. You still see some of your peers who stuck with the position flourishing on to bigger and better things and you feel stuck, at least that’s how I felt. It take a major amount of brain power and taking control of your emotions to push back setbacks like that and choose to try again.
I went to Mary Kay conference about a year or so ago and heard one of the top leaders say this statement that started my mind shift into believing in myself again. She said that once you have become a director, you are always a director. You just have to believe in yourself enough to make it happen again. And this phrase can be used for any situation because it’s only your belief system that is stopping you often when it comes to finishing a goal. So here I am 6 days away from once again completing this major goal. And I don’t know how to feel. I am happy that I will once again be at the position I believe I was destined for but I also feel pressure to keep it going and not compare it to my last time in this position. I feel that’s an important part of finishing a goal you have done in the past. You can’t compare it to your last time. This is a different time in my life and I have learned many more lessons about the business and about myself. I am prepared for this and you are prepared for any goals you have!
So what goals are you currently working on? Write them down in the comments. I would love to share encouragement with you all! Also don’t forget to follow my blog by pressing the button at the bottom of the page.
P.S. I would appreciate any help in finishing this goal so I am your Mary Kay beauty consultant or if you do not currently have one I would urge you to visit my website and purchase any products you are interested in and if you have any interest in this business please contact me through the blog or my MK website which I previously linked to. Thanks! 🙂
